POKOTABI / Tamahiko
らーめん玉彦
Steps from Itabashi Station, Tamahiko pairs fragrant whole-wheat noodles with options ranging from chili-spiced egg mazesoba to seafood and hot-and-sour broths.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
The defining element in every bowl at Tamahiko is the noodle, crafted with whole-wheat flour to provide an aromatic profile and a resilient bite. A standout signature is the green chili egg mazesoba, where thick noodles are tossed with mellow egg, sharp green chili heat, and aromatic garnishes. Midway through the meal, adding hot broth from the accompanying pot introduces rich dashi umami, shifting the profile of the sauce and giving the dish a second dimension.
The broader menu explores varied soup styles designed around the noodle's firm texture. Classic chuka soba and aromatic soy sauce options offer a clean, dashi-forward broth suitable for everyday dining. Other styles lean bold, from the sharp tang and spice of hot-and-sour noodles clinging to thick strands to the heavy viscosity of extra-rich seafood broth, alongside lighter options like yuzu salt and ume plum soy sauce. Each distinct broth is anchored by the noodles' sturdy chew.
Side orders include chashu rice bowls, a house chicken-dashi curry bowl, and pan-fried gyoza, providing satisfying additions to any noodle order. Located moments from Itabashi Station, the compact shop maintains an unhurried atmosphere well suited to solo dining. Service runs through lunch and continues late into the night until 0:30, with QR code payment options such as PayPay and Rakuten Pay accepted.
